Best Social Enterprise Business Award
The Social Economy Business Award is for businesses that trade for social or environmental purposes in the community sector, the voluntary sector or the social enterprise sector. This award will recognise the outstanding work carried out by social entrepreneurs in Lisburn and Castlereagh and marks the contributions they have made in changing the future of their communities for the better.
This award is open to all social enterprises located in the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area that have applied commercial strategies to maximise improvements in human and environmental well-being.
Applications should include:
- The company’s aims and objectives for working with the local community
- Initiatives or strategies that your business has implemented to make a positive impact on the local community or individuals
- Any measures the company has taken to address its’ impact on the environment and the general public
- How the company involves management and staff in working with the local community
Business persons can put themselves forward, or be nominated by another person.
Stage 1 of the judging process will be to shortlist submissions based on the criteria above. Shortlisted finalists will be notified by Wednesday 1st February 2023 and will be invited to take part in Stage 2 of the judging process. Please note that if an applicant is shortlisted for this stage, they must be available to attend a 15-minute Zoom interview/presentation with the judging panel on Wednesday 8th February. The panel will then rank the shortlist based on the interview. If you have entered the Best Licensed Eating Establishment Award or Best Non-Licensed Eating Establishment Award, stage 2 of the judging process will be a mystery shopping visit and you will not be required to attend an interview.
